Structure frontmatter for AI needs
Edit metadata field by field — or drop into raw YAML. Stays out of your content, always in sync.

AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md, prompts, specs, commands, briefs. Markus is where they live. Spot them, read them, edit them, organize them. The AI happens elsewhere, with your favorite tools. Markus is the table.

Think
Draft plans and specs wherever you already think out loud.
Manage
Land them on disk. Edit, organize, retrieve in a keystroke.
Ship
Feed them to Claude Code, Cursor, or whatever ships your code.

Markus is the only step on your disk. The chat is ephemeral. The terminal moves fast. Markus stays.
Works with Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor — your call
No accounts. No cloud. No sync forced on you. Markus reads and writes plain markdown on your disk, exactly where you put it. Nothing leaves.

no cloud · no telemetry
Stay local as long as you can. Not every note belongs in a repo. Not every thought needs the cloud, or to be read by a model.

If your .md files are in a git repo, you already have version control. If they're in Dropbox or iCloud, you already have sync. If they're in a backed-up folder, you already have backups. Markus doesn't add a layer. It sits on top of the one you already trust.

"README, meeting notes, prompt drafts, frontmatter — all markdown, all scattered across a dozen repos. Markus is the Swiss-army knife I open for any .md, wherever it's hiding."
Nico
Kodyo team
"Markus sits right in the middle of my stack. I think in ChatGPT, I ship in Cursor and Claude Code, and every spec, prompt and AGENTS.md passes through Markus on the way."
Sabiha
Kodyo team
"Markus is the bridge between where I think and where I build. Claude chats become specs, specs become CLAUDE.md — and Markus is the calm plain-text layer in between. No lock-in."
At Kodyo, we work with agents, prompts, briefs, and code. Almost everything we write ends up in markdown. README files. AGENTS.md. Project specs. Meeting notes. Random scratch files. They live in a dozen folders across a dozen repos.
With Markus, no more digging through folders, loading entire codebases, or exporting from third-party apps to get to your markdown.
Nico, Sabiha, Louise & Mathieu

Is my data safe?
Your files never leave your machine. Markus reads and writes .md files directly on your disk. No cloud, no account, no telemetry.
Can I import my Obsidian or Notion notes?
If they're already markdown files on disk, just point Markus at the folder. If they're in Notion, export to markdown first.
What if I want to leave?
Your files stay where they always were. Plain .md files in your folders. Open them with any editor. No migration. Nothing to recover.
Does Markus have built-in AI?
No, by design. Every vault is just a folder on your disk. Markus exposes the path (⌥⌘C). The rest is up to you.
