# Markus

> Markus is a native macOS markdown workspace built for developers. It brings every .md file on your machine into one searchable, tabbed window — without cloud accounts, sync, or telemetry. Files stay on disk in their original folders. A one-time license (€39) covers macOS now, with Windows and Linux in development.

Markus is made by Kodyo (KODYO SRL). It is intentionally AI-adjacent, not AI-native: it manages the markdown files that feed Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT, and similar tools, but contains no built-in AI model itself. Markus now ships a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, so AI clients (Claude, Cursor, any MCP client) can read your plans and write results straight to disk.
